  2. This is a set of Computer Modern bitmap fonts for use with Textures¬. These fonts
  3. and metrics are on two high-density diskettes and should be installed in the
  4. ╥TeX fonts╙ folder on your hard disk.
  5.  
  6. For distribution on floppy disks, these font suitcases have been compressed. 
  7. The installation process for each suitcase is to uncompress the .sit file to
  8. produce each full font suitcase.
  9.  
  10. Disk #1 contains these instructions, the ╥TeX metrics╙ suitcase, the UnStuffIt
  11. utility, the ╥Plain.sit╙ file and the ╥CMMath&Roman.sit╙ file. Disk #2 contains
  12. the ╥CMItalic&Sans.sit╙ file and the ╥CMOther.sit╙ file. You use UnStuffIt to
  13. unpack the compressed suitcases.

  16. Installation

  18. If you have an earlier version of these fonts already installed in your ╥TeX
  19. fonts╙ folder, you must remove them before beginning this installation procedure.

  21. First, copy the ╥TeX metrics╙ suitcase into the ╥TeX fonts╙ folder on your hard
  22. disk.

  24. To uncompress and install the ╥Plain.sit╙ file:
  25.  
  26.   Double-click the UnStuffIt tool
  27.   Select ╥Open StuffIt Archive╔╙ from the ╥File╙ menu
  28.   Choose the file ╥Plain.sit╙ from disk #1
  29.   A window will open displaying the contents of the ╥Plain.sit╙ file
  30.   Select (click on) the file ╥Plain fonts╙ from this window
  31.   Click the ╥Extract╔╙ button at the bottom of the window
  32.   Save the extracted file as ╥Plain fonts╙ directly into the ╥TeX fonts╙ folder
  33.     on your hard disk
  34.   Wait for UnStuffIt to extract and uncompress the file (several minutes)

  36. Follow the same procedure to uncompress and install the other font suitcases on
  37. disks 1 and 2.
